Why is the pain still here?

It's been more than six years,

Why is it still here?

Barely an adolescent when it started,

Swallowed more pills

Than I will ever be able to count.

My stomach and tongue

Have forgotten the taste of luxuries.

My body will never been the same.

The pain comes out of nowhere!

Seemingly without a cause.

Why is the pain still here?

With life's advances,

There's still no relief.

Was this meant to happen to me?

What did I ever do to deserve this?

Why is the pain still here?
