The Ugly Duckling
Once upon a time, there lived a duckling in a pond.
The duckling was by far the least attractive animal in the neighborhood and beyond.
The pond was in the best gated community in all the land.
When the Pond Owners Association saw the ugly duckling they decided she was banned.
The ugly duckling packed up and left for the city.
The duckling finally met people who thought she was pretty.
But no one would ask,
To see underneath they layers of makeup that made her a mask.
The duckling then found comfort online,
And she became famous for her new makeup line.
Her fans online gave her strength and support
To go back and visit her home court.
When she got back to her neighborhood,
She finally felt apart of a new sisterhood.
She realized she could be herself without the makeup and the beauty salon,
Because she had become an independent and beautiful swan.
