The Ugly Face of Despair

Haunted day by day relentlessly

in this shadow of a home.

People pass,

while despair lurks,

unnoticed and unseen,

creeping toward innocent pray.

Chills race in the shadows of despair,

as the outrage and exasperation remain,

waiting for the perfect second to strike.

Why is despair so crooked and cruel?

No one may know,

but when it crawls,

 through your flesh and bones,

remember these words…

The eyes of despair show no light,

only glares of disgust and death
