The Ugly Flower
She seems to be an ugly flower,
A flower that has remained closed all this time,
Although many would consider her to be at the prime of her life,
She sees this as a crime,
It's because this flower has a secret,
A secret that she has kept to herself,
Shut down, and hidden from the world,
She recalls the nights when her tears were in sight,
Wanting, more than life itself, to stop this fight,
This fight with her life, her beauty, her desire,
This secret is the only mother, father, brother and sister she's ever known,
With it, this girl has allowed herself to secretly grow,
But only in secret,
It has made her grow, grow into a beautiful flower,
But no one else has become aware of this,
But rather, have decided to ignore her dreams,
Dreams that would let the world know who she truly is,
But her pain, her agony, her desire,
It was more powerful than natures own fire,
And so the flower decided it was time,
Time to let people know her,
To let them see how much she has truly grown,
Because there was only so much she could take,
Knowing that she was destined to wake,
It was a secret she has kept deep in her heart,
Wanting to let people get to know her,
But know her, through her art .
