The Ugly Truth

Double pierced ears weighed down by two pairs of earrings

Hair curled and topped with a colorful headband

Fitted tee and short skirt to match my Converse

A wide smile finishes the outfit

Nice words with laughter behind them color my eyes

A slight pep in my step sends me home

This is where I reveal the ugly truth

My hands tangle within my hair

Naked ears and bumpy face complete my head

This "breathtaking" top barely slips off, unlike the less-than-a-skirt piece of fabric

My swollen feet eventually escape, hot and sweaty

A few slurs and swears fill the air as a large T-shirt easily slips on

Ripped gym shorts that never met the gym complete the outfit

Oh, the headband!

Straight-faced and ready to pass out, I yank off my accessory

I blast some ugly music through my ugly phone

And dance my ugly dance

Just a way to appreciate the ugly truth
