if it were up to me
it would be three am always
with the only light coming
from the flickering street lamp outside
if it were up to me
you would be there always
to help me catch my breath
when all i want to do is die
and if it were up to me
you would kiss me softly
and tell me you’ll never
leave my side
but it’s not up to me
because it’s always so goddamn bright
when i open my eyes
where is my fucking rain
where is my fucking darkness
please paint the colors
that i see in myself
this sun this daylight
this isn’t me
flood me with your water
and let me wash away.
