The Ultimate Quest

The right, the wrong The young, the old The near, and the far It was once said opposites attract And this very statement seems to be the foundation of life For better and for worse But does the worst really get better? Or is that a man-made concept Like the phrases of inspiration The grass is greener on the other side Yet, is this true What if the other side is as deserted and blackened as the one in which we stand? At this very moment What happens then? When not a single soul is there to catch you when you fall Although many say they will be the netting and safe-keeping of your very life Nevertheless, people lie Whether they mean to, or not… The people we hold nearest and dearest Can be the ones who cause us the most pain But why? Why must life play these games? Through fighting it and giving your all to conquer the cruel ways of this world We still end up on knees Praying to a figure in which we cannot see Nor touch Only feel Not physically But spiritually Will that be enough? Should it have to be enough? This question I ask myself daily And have yet to receive an accurate answer Not because one does not care to share the answer But for the reason there is no accurate answer Only a test of faith This being the test I fail constantly However I continue to try, to retake this test Daily Despite contradiction at every turn I strive to reveal the secret Unlock the way of life..
