Ummm...

Broken dreams encapsulated in beads of sweat smeared on the sheets of someone else's bed. Ecstasy-filled moments lead to empty promises paid for with hope. Lust-fuelled writhings on matresses too small to fit consciences on are later replaced by the furious scrubbing of bodies in water hot enough to wash away his smell but never hot enough to scrub off the film of self-resentment. You give him your body in exchange for his affection, because his affection can replace yours, because if he loves you then you don't need to love you; because his love is enough, you see? So like a vending machine, you submit yourself to him; Hand him your self worth for small doses of attention. And as he gives you his body, you give him your heart; with every thrust comes a piece of you; by the time he's done he's leaving with more than just a smile. What you don't understand is that when you give yourself to someone completely, and they give you nothing back, you're reduced to almost nothing. So as he climbs down from the bed you're left lying there with the stranger you've become, even he looks more familiar to you than that girl in the mirror does. You lie there trying to catch your breath, when really what you're trying to get back are your morals, but see, you readily used them as payment - because morals don't make your heart skip a beat just by looking at you, or kiss you on the right spot; morals don't make your toes curl with pleasure. So you didn't even realize when you spent them on 45 minutes of validation; because his stamp of approval means everything. A product nobody has certified doesn't sell for much, does it? You were so stuck in your ways that you didn't even notice when you started running low on funds, and so bankruptcy hit you like a ton of bricks when you lay in his arms that night and realized you had nothing to give. You had willingly handed him everything you had and it finally occurred to you that you cannot afford to use anything that is not being replenished. So when the 'Bank of You' closed, you were no longer able to afford his affection and he moved on the next highest bidder without so much as a backward glance, but he didn't leave you empty handed, he gave you your change; regret, guilt and isolation.
