Unapologetically Me

I am a thinker, wanting to take a step outside the box.
I am a small town girl, with deep blue eyes and long blonde locks.
But don't let that stereotype steer you astray,
I am so much more, a dreamer, an achiever, with big goals to meet one day.
I am a daughter, amazed by the unrelenting love and support my parents supply.
I am so much more understanding of the world because of them, a quality that money could never buy.
I find my peace in music, where lyrics can explain how I feel.
I am a concert junkie, so to me, whether big or small, it's a great deal.
I am passionate about many things, from writing to baking.
In my mind though, I am a sports broadcaster in the making.
From the time I was small, I've been enthralled by the courts and fields.
It's something I truly enjoy. When I make it my career, I know my excitement will never yield.
I look forward to my days at the University of Kansas,
But, I will never forget the people who helped me to paint my own canvas.
As my time in high school comes to an end, I've realized the thing to do is to work hard to be the best I can.
I am unapologetically me, and I will always be true to who I am.
