Unbeneficial Union
A burnt offerring
Does not appease
An angry god
When intentions
For a later day
Are tossed aside.
Intentions do not
Calm my senses.
Obedient to time's
Tendency to fade,
I inhale,
I exhale.
Time just flutters away.
I tasted its courage.
I testified to its urges.
I flirted with its hunger.
Yet what it gave me
Took years of abandonment
To build.
What it takes is prey
Disrobed and sacrificed,
To breed the devil
Of hope.
No fasting
Can compensate
A currency of greed.
So I sit in waiting
For this marraige
Society breeds.
There is no price
For the climax of the incarnate.
We are the two,
The god and the godless,
Never able to amend
For blood shed
Or blood given
Of our sons and daughters,
Who pay the wages of us;
History's unforgiven.
