Unblemished
Blemishes are ANNOYING.
They are the cops shutting down the party,
The stain on my favorite blouse,
The person stepping on the back of my Jays,
The pile of dishes in the sink that I have to wash,
The fly buzzing around my plate at the family barbeque ,
and my sibling stealing my clothes all in one.
That is where makeup comes into play.
Dab some concealer and setting powder on it and I'm on the go.
But what if I didn't need that concealer and setting powder?
What if my blemishes were meant to be seen?
What if my crush liked that he could see my flaw and didn't
appreciate the girls that covered theirs?
What if my blemishes enhanced my beauty like I thought the makeup would?
My blemishes demand attention like my phone ringing from an Amber Alert
and they won't stop until they get it.
They must be watered like my grandmother's collard greens and shown with pride.
From now on I will NOT cover them like a child hiding from the thunderstorm at night
because I am
FLAWLESS...
will maybe not, but unblemished for now.
