Unbroken

My illness doesn’t make me broken

I could let it take my life from me

But I choose to grow stronger and rebel

My genuine thoughts are masked by a desire for perfection

I can’t recognize who I’ve become on the inside, so I critique everything on the outside

My genuine soul is here, simply hidden by insecurity

I have a voice and a song to sing

It is flawed, but it is true

If only I could speak up and let my words resonate

You could see that I’m still here

Not broken, just changed
