Unbroken by Absence

Sunny days shine through leaves,

It is these days she reflects on.

A girl named, Cypress, sees,

As her father is now gone.

Not through sadness or sorrow,

But rather selfishness cascading through light.

It was his loss, she will not be a borrow,

Nor will she use her time to fight.

He did not choose her in the end,

A swift action of abandonment.

Yet her life will continue to transcend,

His cowardice created his own entanglement.
