Uncle Doc

Dear Uncle Doc,

You told me life was hard

and it left a scar,

I regret everyday

and I am left in nothing but decay.

You told me wisdom is powerful

yet I am here wishing I was powerful,

I think hard everyday

but I am left in nothing but misery.

You told me to try my best

yet here I am in second place,

I stopped working hard everyday

and now I'm stuck in my own gallery.

You told me death was nothing

then you lost to it,

I miss you everyday

but I here I am forgetting your missives.

You told me life was hard

So I stepped it up and worked hard,

I regret everyday

yet I am left in array.

You told me wisdom was powerful

now I know I am powerful,

I think hard everyday

and now I understand everything.

You told me to try my best

and now I'm in last place,

I work hard everyday

and now I am happy.

You told me death was nothing

and you did lose to it,

I miss you everyday

and now I remember everything you said.

Love,

Tianna Robinson
