2 A.M
He finally passed out on the couch, bottles everywhere -
Tonight has been one of the worst.
Boss has Him stressed, it comes back to me
He needs to let it out, let his mind be free…
I take a moment to recollect and sip some water
Doesn't help, I just spit it up - will try later

3 A.M
First a shower. The water hurts the gashes and welts
My arms and legs a bloody horror movie.
I try not to cry, if He hears it will only be worse.
Tiptoe to the room, grab some clothes, get out
He's so beautiful when he sleeps.

4 A.M
He will be up soon. I gather his suit and iron out the imperfections
The iron used on my back during his previous job…
I polish his shoes, fix his lunch and morning meal,
He loves sausage before work.
I hear him stirring about and run to the couch,
My mother always told me to prepare for the worst.

4:30 A.M
“Goodmorning, I made your favorite”
He grunts, eats, then comes toward me
It'll be okay, I tell myself
He says I'm his favorite, proceeds to take what's His
I hope the pills prevent a third miscarriage.
He finishes and leaves, thank god no blows today.

12 P.M
I woke up late, missed his call, I'll pay for that later.
Must clean the house, his room, myself
He hates coming home to his own mess

7 P.M
He’ll be home soon, He must've met His girlfriend
I need to make His dinner
Italian is the favorite, dessert as well
I hope my beating is lesser

8 P.M
He stomps in, never a good thing
I smell the bottles on his breath,
Her perfume on his chest,
He got fired today, punched the boss and left -
He pushes me to the ground.
Wraps His belt around my throat
Proceeds to take what's His
The beating doesn't stop

12 A.M
I can't take much more, it's been hours
I can't see, my face swollen shut
He continues, the belt gets tighter
“Stop… it's too… tight…”
He pounds me for speaking out.
“I'm… sorry… I… love… y-”

Time of death - 12:21 A.M
