Unconditional

It hurts me, more than it hurts you

Seeing the pain in your eyes makes me want to die

I will never understand it, but I’ll do my best and try

But I guess if nothing was said, I really didn’t know you at all

Pain hits you like a thief in the night

It doesn’t seem real until it leaves a scar

An imprint in my heart is forever charred

Thoughts swirl around my head

But I’ll still love you till I’m dead

Unconditional and deserving of all

Love manifests itself in all

Sometimes it feels like it runs out

And makes you want to shout at the world

But don’t be scared because we’ll never leave

Your back is covered just wait and see

A whirlwind envelops the room

And I feel my emotions running wild

Torn away and thrown across the universe

I really need to talk to you

And you really need to talk to me

The explanation broke my heart

But made me realize something in the light of dark

That bonds created never fade

And friendship prevails through the days

Life is never what we plan

But if there is one thing I’ve learned

It’s that we all have place

Most of us don’t know it yet

But eventually it will hit

I have the confidence to say

That you’ll find that certain thing

That makes you appreciate yourself everyday
