Unconditional Love

Because I love you,

I'll pay for all your medical bills

Even though you'll never pay for mine.

Because I love you,

I'll walk in the cold early morning air because you couldn't sleep

Even though you sleep soundly when I have insomnia.

Because I love you,

I'll buy your favorite food

Even though you never pick up the check.

Because I love you,

I'll give you warm baths

Even though you resist the entire time.

Because I love you,

I hug you, kiss you, and cuddle you

Even though I only get the occasional kiss back.

Becasue I love you,

I'll brush your hair

Even though you'll never brush mine.

Because I love you,

I'll comfort you when a storm hits

Even though you ignored me last time I cried.

Because I love you, I'll let you go when the time comes

Even though you won't know how hard it is.

Because I love you, you'll always be my dog.
