Unconquered

As the days go by I begin to wonder

What is left of me?

What is left of me really,

Regret, sadness, failure?

Life has taught me I cannot be a savior

Dreams I gave up, challenges I couldn't bear to overcome

For all they think of me now is of scum

Months pass,

The voices around me begin to contrast

The constant fear of failure starts to vanish

I shall not perish

I shall not fall, for I must stand tall

As bravery is greatest of them all.

Because there is no illusion greater than fear.
