Uncontainable
A rumble.
Born in the dark depths, it has been kindled, called to action
Fueled, it begins to gather
Rising, bubbling ebulliently as it builds.
Up
In its flight to escape the confining chasm,
echoing around the caverns it ascends.
climbing farther onward and upward
Through the chambers it hastens
now faster now stronger
irrepressible.
reaching, straining for the vent, the crater
Overcoming gravity, all that pulls one down
Overcoming dormancy, the dismissal by the world
Overcoming pressures and stresses, morphing them into mere skipping stones
Clambering, mounting, soaring until it
bursts
from my lips.
I toss back my head and free this effervescent
laugh
