Under the Sea

She stands gazing at the gateway to the sea

Wondering, "When will my love return for me?"

She dives into the water

Sinking fast beneath the surface

She thinks, "My life! It has no purpose."

She takes a deep breath in and -wait!

Breath under water, how can this be?

She's got fins for legs she's a mermaid, can't you see?

She's found new life, new meaning, new joy

No need for some silly boy

She's happy as can be, she's renewed, she's free

Life is surely better under the sea
