Under the Sea...

So here is the story of me, Poseidon.

Long ago before plastic bottles and bags,

My only source of annoyance on shore was old, cranky hags.

Deep in the sea where I have my throne,

I am now only surrounded by bottles and Styrofoam.

Sure, influencers insist people take more action,

But their calls to action carry immense abstraction.

I don’t even have an Instagram, anyway

The only place I’ve heard of it is from the teens by the bay.

My turtle friends are decreasing by the number

With nightmares of straws creeping in while they slumber.

Alas, there is only so little I could do,

Whilst attempting to watch over my kingdom in the ocean blue.
