Under Snow

The bear's feet are under snow.
It has been snowing for days in the arctic,
And the polar bear stands like a massive guardian,
Watching, waiting.
It has been standing so still,
For so long,
That it's feet are completely buried by snow,
Like a snake covers itself with sand
In the Sahara Desert
And it's back is mounded with snow
Like a mountain
I ask him
Why he has been standing there so long
For his feet to be buried
As if they were in the sand of the Sahara
And he answers.
