Under the Surface
When he looks at me there is no shame in the tears that fall from my face. When you are taught that you are supposed to always be tough crying is thing you can not do. You may not show weakness, but with him I can. Those eyes that see through me. Those hands that hold me in the dark into the daylight. Something powerful in the small moment lying in his arms facing the world together. Not many people make my heart face with the heavy impact of a tow truck like he does. Overtime we learn more about each other everyday and it's something that I cherish. Those soft hands have been scared, but they are gentle when the touch meets mine. Our arguments never last long, because we know that we have something valuable to gain from each other.
The distance means so little, because in our hearts we know truly we are never apart. My best friend. My home.there are many people who look at me and think that they see me for me... but I have never met someone who sees through me so clearly. Those eyes have seen abuse and harm, but he only looks at me with love and affection. That mind has contemplated whether life or death was better, but still now he looks at me with the intent to understand me. People like him don't leave when the situation is hard. Now he may not be perfect to you. but when he holds me it's like the ground beneath my feet has been gone and i've been flying all along. Soe may say that love is cringy. Generally yeah if you have not experienced real love. Whether it's in the way I feel safe with him, or the soft tone of his voice, he makes me feel like I can be me. Like I can be happy. Happier than twilight ( Surprisingly).
There are many days when the world seems to throw its issues my way, but never once has he left me to carry the weight on my own. Being with him is more than feeling like i'm not alone, it's feeling like I belong. He gives me his all, and most importantly accepts what I have to give, and for that he is perfect to me.
