under the wicked sky

Under wicked sky
by kris davis

the day was dark
all around was a single lark

that lark attepmpted to fly high
but all that was accomplished was his cry

under the wicked dark sky
all of our thoughts hide
were they all die
from he wicked sky

under the wicked sky

with clouds so bright
but also clouds filled with pain and spite

under the wicked dark sky
where we think
some of us cower and drink
because of the wicked sky

under the wicked sky

with ideas so pure
we tend to get caught in a lure

under the wicked empty sky
where we kill
where we are all ill
why wicked sky?

under the wicked sky

the one place we felt safe in
yet the one place we all kill ourselves in

under wicked sky
where our minds make us who we are
yet we give ourselves scars
we all make up the wicked sky.
