Underneath

Thin, alone, and depressed

you could tell by the way he dressed.

Reclusive and shy

it looked as if he was close to cry.

You could see it in his eyes

all the secrets that he hides.

He has been pushed down.

He’s known as the loner of the town.

Get to know him and you will see

that his art has appeared in a movie.

He may look deep, and dark,

with a shallow heart,

but he releases his emotions in his art.

He still stands strong,

and lets go of what he has done wrong.

He can still hear the crowd roar

as he accepts another, and breaks the record.

“Such a great artist,” they declare

yet you judged people by what they wear.
