Underneath The Surface:

I may be beautiful
But I have brains underneath
I am one who believes beauty is only skin deep
Look past my short hair, big nose and gap teeth
Look deep into my soul
That is where you will find me
The ME that everyone wants me to hide
The ME that no one attempts to find
The me that has so much talent
Yet fear has kept me silent…
Underneath the killer smile and curves
There is a voice that dares to be heard
She is tired of not speaking up
Tired of being unnoticed
She is overwhelmed with emotions
Yet now she is open
I am tired of being scared
Of giving up before I try
I can not lie
Believe it or not
I am more than meets the eye
