Understand Me

I walk through the night without fear.
Darkness shadows me like a cape.
I walk with no destination.
With the feeling that my end will soon be near.
My mind sways from one worry to the next.
What I will become, is so continuously vexed.
Our futures are so uncertain, the only thing sure is the wind.
And the stars, and the moon above.
Day to day, I try to make sense of it all.
I pray, I trust in God, and then ruin that love with sin.
I am just what you made.
I am a creation of His own.
Because of my sins, you may stone.
And now as I tread through this night alone,
I realize now that I am home. No need to search further.
The Earth is my playground.
The Sea is my pool.
I see these things so clearly, I refuse to ever play a fool.
I have the power to write the very script to my life.
There will be many accomplishments, much happiness.
I will stop myself from writing any sadness or strife.
To be sane is a daily mission.
Sometimes the missions win, but I refuse to live in fear.
I will get back up, and let my drive persevere.
Fear is irrelevant. It is what you make it.
And as I walk this lonely sidewalk, I trick fear with my wit.
I stand in front of it and laugh in it's face.
"You are such a disgrace, You will never control me"
I am forever free.
This sidewalk is taking me somewhere, and I don't know where that place is yet.
But I know something great lies ahead.
I could waste my time wondering, or instead;
I will embrace my journey. I will soar to the highest mountain.
I will climb the tallest tree. I am free.
I will live without fear, in happiness, and be all that I can be.
Watch me.
