Understand Me

I don't know if you understand
I know you think you do
You try to solve my problems
You try to make it all go away
But you can't.
You may never understand
Grasp the meaning,
The deep inner world that I feel
  Upset
                    Abandoned
       Anger
                    Ignored
  Disappointed
                     Misunderstood
But that's okay
As long as you desire to make things better
To kiss the hurt away
It won't solve the problem
But it will make it all easier to bear
So that I don't have to travel alone
Just keep being there
Because knowing I can count on you
Dissolves all the world's problems
And makes me feel
Wonderful
         Loved
            Cared about
                  Embraced
                       Protected
                                 Happy

Because I know that you DO, in fact, understand.
