Understanding

I was always special Didn't need every man showering me with compliments to make me feel good I don't have low self esteem I demand respect, not likes So stalking my pics everyday doesn't make me feel wanted It just makes me feel uncomfortable Cause unlike so many, I'm comfortable in my being I know what it means to sit in silence and to sit alone I don't need a crowd or backup Don't look for any line sisters Cause I pledged Me Phi Me I stand alone, I tend to sit alone But that doesn't mean my spirit doesn't shine like a light Enough that I don't have to look for anyone They spot me before I even hit the door It is my heart that I rather you recognize My versatility to balance both my femininity and masculine qualities Listen to my voice in my writing Just because I'm quiet doesn't mean I'm not saying anything I speak volumes in my work And though I am reserved Never hesitate to check me out Because I am that girl I am different I am troubled But I'm a woman of understanding Willing to understand you, if you try to understand me
