Understanding

Understanding

When you raise your voice, or yet, your hand, and I flinch, it’s okay…. because I love you.

When I whimper in fear when dinner isn’t done, and you get angry, it’s okay…. because I love you.

When you lie to me and manipulate me, it’s okay…. because I love you.

When you get angry at me for going out or having guy friends…it’s okay, because I love you.

When you leave ugly black and blue bruises all over me and throw things at me…it’s okay, because I love you.

No, that isn’t what a relationship is,

Because I love you…. I will cherish you, and be there for you, even when we fight.

Because I love you…. I will help you in times of need and strength.

Because I love you…. I will be honest with you, and will always respect you.

Because I love you…. I will never raise my fist, my voice, or even use words, to hurt you.

Because I love you…you deserve a healthy relationship.
