Colossians 1:9-12

Paul’s Prayer for the Growth of the Church

9 For this reason we also, from the day we heard about you, have not ceased praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you may live worthily of the Lord and please him in all respects—bearing fruit in every good deed, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of all patience and steadfastness, joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.

Comprehension does not arise naturally, it is enlightened by the Spirit

Revelation is received from God, who assists us in understanding

He gives us a Spiritual conscience and lays out all spiritual tasks

And only when we stray and wander He will start reprimanding

When God’s Glory is at stake if this is really possible

Basically I mean when His Glory dims deep within us

Then He will correct and will render us surely uneasy

For conscience and intuition protect “His Glory” as thus

The Holy Spirit illuminates a conscience towards conviction

He does so with the Gospel and He does so when redeemed

He brings the Will of God into the very center of our focus

And takes away excuses that offend His Son or demeans
