"Undone"
“Undone”
And here we are slowly but surely falling apart
Slow as time seems to have stopped
Caught amiss bliss and tears
But we were bound as the end is
Inevitable as the time that won’t pass
Stuck in the suspended memories
Kept on waiting for it to be better
For it to finally feel right
But always it was a fight
A fight to fight
A fight to love
A fight for happiness
That was so fleeting
Though once was all we knew
Slowly and surely we were coming undone
Continuing on
Sometimes I wonder about you
Wonder if your mind ever wanders to me
I know this is nothing new
Sounds like T. Swift
Or teenage angst
This is just high school
We’ll forget it all soon
But I think many would recognize
That feeling
Even if it lasts for just an instant
Long enough to say
I’m sorry, I lied
Long enough to remember
What they may never know
Whether it is regret or the truth
Both belong to the past
That nagging tie to the past
Presently moved on
Presently bothersome, sometimes invasive
The future, a collaboration of
Correcting past transgressions
With present diligence and avoidance
The future though we may question
If only in passing
With the most common, plaguing, vexing, forever unanswered
Inquiry
Simply of
What if?
But you can’t live your life on
What if.
Recognizing that
What could have been
Holds no place now
And with current projection
Shall not be.
So here we are following the path of the inevitable end
An end so eventual
Eventually it was bound to happen
Happening so quick
Quicker than falling in love
Is watching the whole thing come undone
