Unexpected self-awareness

You thought the one you could trust would be there. Is the same one that thinks your life is for them to share Then treats you different like you havent a clue You think she is the same person yet shes a stranger to you When in reality you know you're in danger And then there's a certain moment that's the game changer You finally stretch like an elastic rubberband You snap and cannot deal with the constant demand Every part of you wants to control your sanity But the words constantly from her, is profanity Countless days, nights, and uncertain afternoons Have left you clueless, getting your happiness from cartoons You wake up every agonizing morning ready to end your life The easiest way would be to access a knife You stop, think and give yourself some space You come to realize all you needed was some grace You are what she said you weren't: talented and strong Everything you have to learn from yourself will last lifelong She is no longer in control; no longer powerful From every word spoken, was made to seem flowerful You are now proud about who you truly are Every "You" in this poem was me, the author; truly scarred My name is Dede Franklin and I'm no longer falling apart And it's finally time for me to create a fresh-start
