Unexpected Truths

Two pieces, one wrapper The mold is the same But their flavors are different, something unseen. One looks like sunshine yellow with hope But as it enters my life, nothing but imitation The other brings anticipation the color of fire As it touches me, fake citrus revealed They can try to hide behind their brightly colored personalities, Try to fool me with their appearances. They lie to my face, with their broken seal They start to seep out; the lies convulsing They smell fake, yet cunning with color Their flavor lingers, not the way I had hoped Sickly sweet, lies stuck between my teeth, the feelings escapes Water so pure, erases the taste Finally gone, the essence has diminished Now only time can heal my fate
