Unfiltered
We want people to like us so we do things that are not like us
A façade a front is what we put up
Broken by reject we reject our true identity
And instead adopt a figment of what we call reality
When in reality we are not anything we assume ourselves to be
We label ourselves as something so ignorant, temporary, and worthless
That we are drawn into a vortex a vortex of false identity unable to break free
Sometimes I feel like a fool a complete and utter fool and I wonder who has tricked
Myself repeatedly but the finger only points to me
My traits betray me and instead of being trustful I am gullible I give everyone more credit than they deserve
Strangers on the street have hearts of gold
The boy that broke my heart has full access passes
To the synapses in my brain that tells my heart to break
I am a people pleaser; raw and uncut I want everyone to love me
No matter what I have to give up
My morals, my opinions, myself; they’re all lost
But with my filter that protects me, this is the cost.
