Unfiltered and Unique

Each day I wake

I flip on my phone

in search of reality

untattered by edits

unfiltered by filters

why the mask

who are we hidding

why cant we see

the person abiding

we hide in the shadows

we delete the imperfections

soon we will see

and how painfull it will be

when one day we wake

to a world of perception

all will view perfect

and flawless

and happy

but what then dear world

when everyone is super,

perfect and clean

the mask will be useless

as it no longer distinguishes

the tables will turn

those untouched by edits

and unfiltered by filters

will stand out as unique

only then we will realize,

the beauty of the person

isnt bound by the filters

contained in our phones.
