Unfinished Masterpieces

A studio with white walls

And red-stained furniture is where

Adam took his women

Painting on a new canvas each day

Sophia was his new canvas

On a Tuesday

He began by stripping her of her colors

All of them

And giving her new ones

Every minute

He struck her chest

With an aggressive black pigment

Against her pale skin

Leaving purple patches

Almost breathless

She says

“I love it when you use black”

He spun her around

And created lines of red

With the paintbrush

As more red appeared on her arms

He wanted to see more blue

More purple

Until he got bored

And picked out another canvas

On Wednesday
