Unforgettable

Looking down the street Silence surrounds my seat Yet clashes and bashes rign within My shoulders and neck begin to stiffen The Past is so long gone But my heart is not withdrawn The past can never return But yet those memories burn A year to remember A year repeated never I was young in 1944 In combat fighting offshore In 1944, "A war worth fighting for" I was ready I was steady But when those planes came How could I stay sane? Fighting for all its worth Then Death and now rebirth Now it's time for healing But those scars I keep on feeling
