Unforgiving Love

The sun burns bright on the hill tonight
Not a breath to be taken
This place of isolation
And it looks like there's no escape.

The air is freezing like my broken heart inside
I tried to keep it in, Lord knows I tried
Can't let them in, can't let them see
Be the good girl I need to be
Conceal don't feel, they can't know
Well now they know.

Let it go, let it go
I can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
I don't care what anyone thinks
Let this storm rage on, it never bothered me anyway.

So how come no one protected, the little girl that the world rejected?
Where can I go?
I can't go back, I can't save the past
Please take me far away
Somewhere they can't hurt me.

Jesus I can't see you, but Lord I know I need you
Help me to start a new life
I used to be that future burning bright
Now I am just another sleepless night.

I hide all this hurt behind this wall
Please don't let it hurt me anymore
For so long I thought you abandoned me
But really I abandoned you.

You began a good work in me
Please continue to see me through
I felt so alone and unworthy
But only in your arms is my shame moved by mercy.

So here I stand a child undeserving
Lord let my life be moved by mercy.
