Unfortunate events
How will you be able to walk through life if you can hardly stand/just a man who's plan comes to an end caused by the actions created by his own hand / I thought I knew where every turn would go / But life has a way of putting a fork in the roads /
We make promises about places we will see and feel confident on who we are determined to be and all the things that we will accomplish and achieve / We say “one day” like one day is guaranteed / Not knowing tomorrow will show you something that you cannot believe /
I’ve seen a phone call turn laughter to tears / Seen a few seconds trigger psychosis in a person that lasted for years / Seen people leave who we thought would stay / And felt the kind of pain that words can’t explain /
I’ve seen a smile hide a heart full of pain / A person saying “I’m good” while trying to find a vein / We all fight battles we just hope nobody knows / Wiping tears from your eyes while forgetting to wipe the white from around your nose /
I’ve seen people drown caused by the choices they choose/ Trying to escape the pain with alcohol or drug abuse / A little bit of comfort that slowly eats away the soul / too distracted to notice how fast time passes now your sixty years old
one of the hardest parts to accept about this truth / Is life doesn't consider your age by how old or even your youth /you learn Good people get hurt, and good people leave / Sometimes the hardest thing to do is accept what you cannot believe /
But somewhere between being broken and barely alive / There’s a part of us preparing to die /
And when the memories in your heart finally reach your mind / It’s the soul’s way of living at two different times / we may not be given the life that we would choose / But the way that we handle the pain shapes the way we think with our point of views / Maybe every scar and every mistake / Is proof of the strength /built from all the pain we can we had no choice but to take/
So love who you love while they’re still right here / one day the last day will appear/ life’s most important lesson often becomes the ones we regret / The moments we lost and can never reset /
The future we picture might never arrive / as of the person we picture in the future might not be the same person that survived / every unexpected twist and every test / Can lead us somewhere we would have never guessed /
the beauty you have struggled to see / Is that life’s unknown future is what makes us all free / We don’t know the ending, we don’t know the way / We only get this moment, this breath, and this day /
