An unfortunate reality

Thoughts of food

cloud the child's mind.

If only she had a

peice of bread,

to stop the constant

pang of hunger

and the peircing headache.

All energy and

strength

has left her frail body.

To end childhood hunger

is my aspiration and

dream.

For no child deserves

to dream of food,

only to be awaken

by the noise of her

stomach growling,

for something that

she does not have.
