Unfrozen

The warm sun rises,

Lifting fears and cares away.

Renewing spirits, thawing our skin.

Against the cold, it works hard to allay.

Reminded once again why we carry on,

We pick ourselves up from the ice where we'd been withdrawn.

Shaking off the frost, dancing in the light

Praying for it to never end.

Praying for a stall on the night.

We know that the chill will soon return,

where we must curl up against the frozen air.

But we can patiently yearn

for the days that our hearts can sing without care.
