Unfulfilled Dreams

Sky explodes with vibrant crimson sapphire cherry Filtered by green shelter He sits beside me friend companion Will we never be more? Chase these thoughts Focus! Study! Suddenly- something on my side His gentle yet powerful grip Intense face coming closer closer closer still His breath on my cheek A faint whisper “I love you” I float in oblivion Only aware of his touch his breath his love I feel day light peeking over a hill birds chirp I sit in bed battered by reality My dream is only a dream My love is only a friend
