The Unhealthy

Be honest with me,

And everything will be alright.

Have trust,

And we,

Will go a long way without a fight.

Communication is a must,

For without it nothing gets solved,

The relationship is ours,

No one else is involved.

You make me feel like a child,

Giddy and excited,

And you make me see stars.

I knew as soon as you smiled,

That you would be mine.

Though I am still my own person,

Because I love you,

I adapt to your wants and your needs.

Even when the mood swings worsen,

And your eyes seem to have a different hue,

The yelling continuously impedes,

Upon genuine resolution between you and I.

Causing our respect for one another to decrease,

As well as lies,

Sculpted by deceit and betrayal,

With no respect,

Nothing more than a downward spiral can we expect.

I need comfort and support,

Not responses that are snarky and short.

But,

Because I love you,

I let it all go.

It may make me feel low,

But,

Because I love you,

My vision is unfocused and blurry.

People like us rush to the finish line,

Scrambling in such a hurry,

Failing to see what’s right in front of them,

Which is something unhealthy,

Causing mayhem,

Causing me,

Someone who was once healthy,

Not so much in gold and silver,

But in joy and in hope,

To feel as if I am walking on a tightrope,

No net beneath my feet.

But,

Because I love you,

If I were to fall,

No net to catch my frail form,

Which goes against all societal norms,

I wouldn’t even have seen it coming.

Because I love you,

I see unhealthy as healthy,

And

Because I love you,

This must end,

So that you and I may be healthy,

Because,

I love you.
