Unheard

There’s a fire burning within

Fueled by pure sin

Tormenting thoughts and soundless cries

Reminiscing on each of his lies

I’m so exposed and vulnerable

Lost and incapable

I’m no longer me, I’m missing a piece

My faith in my self has begun to decrease

A rhythmic beating, pulling me through

Who is it to blame, either I or you?

All I have is the past

And I know it can’t last

But the pain I feel now

Will survive somehow

I forgot what it’s like to be by your side

I forgot what it was like before you lied.

I’m broken I’m shattered

I remember every word

It was my cries within that were never heard

I'm a senior from North Dakota. I've written plenty of poems. Most of them aren't from experiences but from thoughts that just get trapped in my mind. I'm my own worst critic so I can take all the hate that is given about my writing.
