The Unique and Same
They awake at different times of the day
An alarm clock at 5, a yell at 7
A father’s touch at 8 and a siren at 11
They all get ready in a different way
A jog before work, cooking breakfast for ten
A prayer on one’s knees, meditation for Zen
They travel in a different way
A luxury car zooms, a bus flies by
A bicycle weaves, and feet walk miles
They all fill their days in different ways
All day in an office, all day in the sun
All day learning in school, all day searching for a job
They all go home to a different space
A mansion with a pool, an apartment for ten
A room for father and child, a park bench once again
They all have struggles
A loneliness and depression, a struggling to make ends meet
Hours of homework and pressure, an addiction that can’t be beat
They are all human in the same ways
A love for other’s success, a will to succeed
A sacrificing love and eyes that sit back and see
They are all unique and the same
Diversity is one thing that makes the world a wonderful place
