The Unique Journey Through a Book

The soft texture of the cover

Like the feel of material woven with water

The crisp texture of the pages

Like the first crunch of October’s leaves

The smell of journeys not yet discovered

Like the fresh scent of grasses after a rain

The anticipation at seeing the first sentence

Like the first sight of life in a world long abandoned

The reality of the words that create the adventure

Like the combination of notes creating music

The emotional stress that accompanies the troubles of characters

Like a sacrifice being given in the face of love

The intense peak of an epic flight in climax

Like the sound of the first cannon in glorious battles long past

The progressive journey to fix the troubles of a world now known

Like the search for a cure to couple the growing knowledge on cancer

The feeling of closure as the world comes to an end

Like the last look at a place that has always been called home

The worn texture of the last pages

Like the November leaves calling for the end of the season

The contentment on reading the last word

Like the passing away of a person who has satisfied all their desires

The same soft texture of the back cover

Like a goodbye coupled with the gentle promise to be back again
