United State's Presidents

Washington, president number one

He handled the Whiskey Rebellion

John Adams, president numero dos

Alien and Sedition Acts he chose

Then number three, President Jefferson

He doubled the size of our great nation

Next, President James Madison

Led us through the war with Britain

President James Monroe, number five

Drafted the Missouri Compromise

John Quincy Adams would soon have to pay

For the corrupt bargain he made with Clay

Next, President Andrew Jackson

He got rid of the Indians

Voters thought Van Buren would do the trick

But, his term had way too many panics

William Harrison, old Tippecanoe

He served one month and he died of the flu

John Tyler, our next White House resident

Set the standard for the vice president

Number Eleven, James Knox Polk

Helped us fight the Mexican folk

Number twelve, Taylor, Zachary

Also called ‘Old Rough and Ready’

Unlucky thirteen, Mister President Millard Fillmore

Signed the Compromise of 1850, which staved off war

Next, Franklin Pierce presided over our country

He repealed the Compromise of Missouri

James Buchanan, fifteen

He saw the states secede

Next, Abraham Lincoln served our nation

He freed some slaves with his proclamation

Andrew Johnson, next President

Narrowly survived impeachment

Then came Ulysses Grant

Suppressed the Ku Klux Klan

After this comes Hayes, Rutherford B.

He barely won the presidency

Next comes James Abram Garfield, our twentieth president

His killing marked the fourth passing of a White House resident

President Chester Arthur, up to bat

Signed the Pendleton Civil Service Act

Grover Cleveland, next president of the nation

Created the Interstate Commerce Commission

Next up, Benjamin Harrison as a matter of fact

Fought the monopolies with the Sherman Antitrust Act

And once again, here is our Mister President Grover C.

Only president to serve two terms non-consecutively

Next is McKinley, who the people asked for

Led us through the Spanish-American War

After him came Roosevelt, Teddy

First trustbuster in presidency

Then came Taft to White House residency

Advocated Dollar Diplomacy

Here is President Woodrow Wilson

Advocated for League of Nations

Warren Harding got into the presidency

He promised to all a return to normalcy

Calvin Coolidge, president number thirty

He presided over the roaring twenties

Mister Herbert Hoover, President Number thirty-one

President during the beginning of the depression

Next comes Roosevelt, Franklin D.

He helped us fight back the Nazis

Afterwards comes Harry S. Truman

Dropped the atomic bomb on Japan

Eisenhower Thirty-Four

Ended the Korean War

Then comes the thirty-fifth president, John F. Kennedy

He handled the Cuban Missile Crisis for our country

Next is Lyndon Johnson to the presidency

Improved the nation with the Great Society

Here is Nixon, next in line

First president to resign

Now to Gerald Ford, thirty-eight

Pardoned Nixon for Watergate

Jimmy Carter comes right after Ford

Helped work out the Camp David Accords

Ronald Reagan, number forty

Favored the trickle-down theory

Next is George Bush, president number forty-one

Did quite well in the Desert Storm operation

Clinton is in the presidency

Saw economic prosperity

President George Bush Junior, Forty Three

Handled the nine eleven tragedy

Now we have Barack Obama

Managed the death of Osama

Who will be our nation’s next president?

Could you be the next White House resident?
