United We Stand

It’s in the class that the memory grips Like a leaky faucet that constantly drips You hate the feeling of anger and despair It takes all you have to stay in your chair He spins the story of that day so long ago When you were too young to truly know What you felt and what you saw That morning as the world stood in awe You close your eyes and try to ignore The pain of the silence that you bore So many innocents, so many lives Lost and taken from those who survived You remember the fire and you fill with dread Of all the many things that were left unsaid You remember the collapse and the cloud of dust You try to forget, but remember you must Tears were shed and fists were raised America united and together we praised That we had a chance to fight back Now it was our turn to attack They lifted our flag over the mass grave Land of the free, home of the brave Lift your voice and let it be heard overseas For this is the opportunity we must seize For on that morning so long ago A promise was made in order to show That we will not back down from a fight And at the end of the tunnel, we shall see light When the towers fell, the whole world cried But in the end, America survived United we stand, divided we fall As you can see, we stood brave and tall
