The Universe

The Universe

Dear endless expanse of everything,

Could it be that you will forever remain a mystery?

Could it be that there are final truths we will never see?

As of now we are stuck in one place,

Left wondering how we are supposed to travel to space.

Right now, our world isn’t very aware

Of the all the potential secrets you could spare.

We are too focused on fighting and war

To remember that outside our world there is much more.

While that may be the case right now,

I hope and believe that we will see past that somehow.

We’ll eventually drop our swords and our guns

To make a new future for our daughters and sons.

As long as there are still more questions to ask,

Humanity will always accept the task

Of finding your answers and learning to see

That you are nothing we thought you would be.

As we progress forward forever,

Finding answers will remain an endeavor.

But we will continue to learn what you are,

As we find our answers among the stars.
